Chief Accountant

Chief accountant includes overseeing the accounting department, developing financial strategies, making investment decisions, helping company leadership with strategic planning, and making sure the company complies with the financial regulations. Responsibilities include overseeing the operations of all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Fixed Assets, month-end accruals, and provisions. Responsible for year-end and month-end closing and the preparation of monthly financial statements. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end management financial reports. Review and approve all payment transactions, including reimbursements, payments on account, vouchers, checks, etc. Handle year-end closing and monthly financial statements. Liaise with external government institutions and act as the main contact for internal and external audits. Respond to all queries related to financial matters. Recommend and draft financial and accounting policies and procedures. Maintain the accounting manual up to date and ensure adherence to the manual and all policies and procedures. Review and approve journal vouchers. Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports. Coordinate the accurate and timely payment of suppliers. Prepare yearly budgets. Administer all balance sheet account reconciliations. Act as the point of contact for queries related to employee and supplier payments. Review accounts payable and weekly check runs. Determine the proper handling of financial transactions and approve transactions within designated limits. Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, cost centers, and documents for business transactions. Responsible for distributing financial statements and cost center reports. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Minimum 7 years of experience, with at least 2 years at the supervisory level. Background in Logistics or IT is preferred. Experience in creating budgets, accounting guidelines, year-end accounts, and liaising with external auditors. Proficiency in Arabic and English is required, both spoken and written. Very good user of ERP systems. Key Skills and Core Competencies: Judgment and decision-making, critical thinking, manage financial reporting, consolidation, and financial analysis processes. Advise top-level management on finance, management, staffing, and other service-related issues and procedures. Direct the company's end-to-end financial processes, including annual work plans, biannual business forecasts, and actual results. Lead and direct the organization's financial planning, including business operations and forecasting financial results. Collaborate with Business Development activities to develop financial models for sales and marketing initiatives and pricing strategies.
