General Accountant

Position Title: General Accountant Employment Type: Full Time Salary AED: up to 10,000 depending on experience and qualifications Job Location: Dubai, UAE About the Client: A Dubai-based travel company with more than 20 years of experience delivering exceptional holiday experiences worldwide. Job Description: - Manage full-cycle accounting, with strong ownership of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), including invoicing, collections, supplier payments, aging reports, reconciliations, and account follow-ups. - Handle and reconcile high-volume online transactions, ensuring sales/bookings, customer payments, refunds, cancellations, commissions, supplier charges, and payment-gateway transactions are accurately recorded. - Perform bank, customer, supplier, and system reconciliations, investigate discrepancies between the online platform and accounting records, and ensure timely resolution of outstanding balances. - Support month-end/year-end closing, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, financial reporting, VAT documentation, and maintenance of accurate records through Odoo/ERP/CRM/accounting systems. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field, with approximately 3–5+ years of hands-on accounting experience, particularly AR and AP. - Proven experience within e-commerce, online travel portals/OTAs, travel agencies, or another high-volume online transaction environment is strongly preferred. - Mandatory hands-on experience with Odoo, ERP, CRM, or comparable integrated accounting systems; candidate must be comfortable extracting reports and reconciling system data against accounting records. - Strong knowledge of AR/AP, bank reconciliation, payment reconciliation, GL, month-end closing, VAT, aging reports, and Excel, with high accuracy in handling large transaction volumes.
