General Accountant

Job Title: General Accountant Industry: FMCG / Frozen Food Manufacturing & Distribution Location: United Arab Emirates Salary Package: AED 3,000 – AED 5,000 (Depending on experience) Job Type: Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant to oversee our daily financial operations within the FMCG and frozen foods sector. The ideal candidate will manage core accounting functions, ensure accurate inventory costing for frozen goods, maintain tax compliance under UAE VAT laws, and utilize local ERP software to generate timely financial reports. Key Responsibilities: - Financial Accounting: Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and monthly bank reconciliations. - FMCG & Inventory Accounting: Monitor and record inventory movements, variance analysis, and costing specifically for frozen food items (including wastage, expiry, and cold chain logistics adjustments). - VAT & Tax Compliance: Prepare, verify, and file quarterly UAE VAT returns in strict compliance with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations. Maintain proper documentation for tax audits. - Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow forecasts. - Vendor & Customer Management: Reconcile supplier statements (local and international distributors) and follow up on aging receivables with retail/wholesale clients. - System Maintenance: Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the company’s ERP system. Requirements and Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, or CMA) are a plus. - Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years strictly within the FMCG or food and beverage (frozen products preferred) industry in the UAE. - Software Expertise: Proficiency in mainstream ERP systems (such as Tally Prime, Focus, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks) and advanced knowledge of MS Excel. - Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of UAE Corporate Tax principles and hands-on experience with FTA VAT portals and filing procedures. - Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, high numerical accuracy, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with warehouse and sales teams. Note: Visa and Medical Insurance will be provided by the company.
