Senior Cost Control Engineer

Alfanar Projects is looking for a Senior Cost Control Engineer to manage and forecast costs across construction projects. The role involves setting up project budgets, tracking actual costs and commitments, identifying potential overruns, and giving project teams reliable forecasts so they can take action early. Key responsibilities include setting up project cost breakdown structures and budgets in SAP or a similar project cost system; reviewing project scope to prepare detailed estimates to complete; tracking actual costs, commitments, and budget changes; comparing budgeted costs with actual and forecast costs; preparing and regularly updating cost forecasts, project cash flows, and cost reports; analysing percentage of completion, project progress, and financial performance with project and finance teams; reviewing proposed budget revisions; working with project execution, planning, resources, and supply chain teams; highlighting cost risks early; supporting cost-saving initiatives; and preparing clear reports and dashboards. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; 5 to 7 years of cost control experience in a large construction or EPC company; hands-on experience setting up project budgets, tracking costs, and preparing forecasts; good understanding of estimates to complete, cash flow forecasting, percentage of completion, and project cost performance; working experience with SAP PS/CO or a similar project cost management system; strong Excel skills, with Primavera and Power BI as an advantage. Preferred qualifications include CCP or PMP certification and Earned Value Management experience.
