Accountant

Role: Accountant Location: Dubai, UAE Company: Rentify Type: Full-time Requirement: Immediate About the Role We are looking for an Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, payment reconciliations, customer and landlord payouts, and financial reporting. The role requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate work within agreed timelines. Key Responsibilities - Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure transactions are supported by appropriate documentation. - Reconcile bank accounts, payment gateways and customer and landlord balances; investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly. - Prepare and process customer and landlord payouts after verifying collections, fees, adjustments and approvals. - Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payment tracking and follow-ups. - Record revenue, expenses, accruals and prepayments, and support month-end and year-end closing. - Prepare cash-flow reports, outstanding balance summaries and other financial reports. - Support UAE VAT and corporate tax compliance through accurate records, reconciliations and supporting schedules. - Maintain audit-ready documentation and coordinate with auditors and tax advisers. - Follow financial controls and approval procedures, and escalate errors, delays or payment exceptions promptly. - Improve accounting workflows and reduce manual errors through effective use of Excel and accounting systems. Qualifications and Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. - 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably including experience in the UAE. - Sound understanding of accounting principles and working knowledge of UAE VAT and corporate tax requirements. - Strong practical Excel skills, including XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables and reconciliation of large datasets. - Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Tally or an ERP system. - Experience in fintech, payment services, property management or a business handling high transaction volumes would be an advantage.
