Accountant & Collections Officer

As an Accountant & Collections Officer at UNICO MEA, you will be responsible for both accounting operations and collections activities. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, handling daily accounting tasks, preparing periodic financial reports, and ensuring the timely collection of outstanding receivables. You will be expected to demonstrate a solid understanding of accounting principles, apply strong analytical skills, and communicate effectively to oversee client accounts, resolve overdue payments, and maintain positive client relationships. Key Responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, ledgers, and journals, recording day-to-day financial transactions (accounts payable, receivable, journal entries), assisting in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, processing payroll, supporting audits, overseeing cash flow activities, monitoring accounts receivable, contacting clients regarding overdue accounts, negotiating payment plans, and preparing aging reports. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, 5+ years of experience in accounting and/or collections, knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, local financial regulations, banking procedures such as Letters of Credit (LC) and Trust Receipts (TR), and proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks, Quick Bills, or SAP.
