Finance Director

Our client is a large, diversified construction and manufacturing group based in Abu Dhabi, delivering high-quality products and solutions to the construction industry. They are now seeking a Finance Director to lead the finance function across the business. Role Summary: This position is to lead the organization’s financial management, planning and governance functions, drive financial performance, ensure regulatory compliance, optimize cash flow, strengthen project financial controls and support executive decision-making to achieve sustainable business growth and profitability. The role requires deep expertise in construction finance, project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, contract administration, financial reporting and risk management within large-scale construction, infrastructure or engineering organizations. Must Have Candidate Experience to be Considered: - Bachelor's Degree and a Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA or CA. - More than 15 years of progressive finance experience, including at least seven years in a senior leadership role. - Extensive experience in construction, infrastructure, engineering or contracting, with a proven record of managing multi-million-dollar projects and complex financial operations. Key Responsibilities: - Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with corporate objectives, provide financial insights to the Board, support M&A and business expansion. - Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, monitor profitability, cash flow, conduct feasibility studies, and establish KPIs. - Construction Project Financial Management: Oversee project cost controls, budgeting, revenue recognition, monitor WIP, project margins, and cost-to-complete analyses. - Treasury & Cash Flow Management: Manage corporate treasury, banking relationships, working capital, and optimize cash flow forecasting. - Financial Reporting & Compliance: Ensure accurate financial statements, maintain compliance with IFRS and tax regulations, coordinate external audits, and strengthen internal controls. - Risk Management: Identify financial risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and support commercial teams. - Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, promote automation and digital transformation within finance. Candidate Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Commerce or related field. Master’s degree preferred. - Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA or CA. - More than 15 years of progressive finance experience, with at least seven years in senior leadership within construction, infrastructure, engineering, or contracting. - Expertise in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, IFS, or similar; advanced financial modelling and BI tools like Power BI and Tableau.
