Junior Accountant

About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our client’s finance team. In this role, you will assist with day-to-day accounting operations, manage accounts payable and receivable, process supplier invoices, verify payments, prepare customer statements, and follow up on outstanding receivables. Key Responsibilities: - Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process supplier invoices, verify payments, prepare customer statements, and follow up on outstanding receivables. - General Ledger & Reconciliations: Assist in maintaining the general ledger, perform routine bank reconciliations, and verify intercompany transactions. - Data Entry & Documentation: Record daily financial transactions into the ERP system accurately, ensuring proper filing of invoices, receipts, and vouchers. - Month-End Support: Support senior accountants during month-end closing procedures, including gathering data for accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis. - Tax & Compliance Support: Assist with compiling basic financial documentation required for UAE VAT returns and statutory audit preparation. Requirements & Qualifications: - Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on general accounting experience within the GCC/UAE. - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Software Skills: Hands-on experience with accounting ERP software (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables). - Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of IFRS standards, double-entry bookkeeping, and UAE VAT concepts. - Soft Skills: Strong numerical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and good verbal and written communication skills in English.
