Lead Accountant

In the UAE, we build long-term partnerships with professionals who want genuine general ledger ownership and direct exposure to US finance environments. We are hiring a Lead Accountant with strong US GAAP experience to take senior ownership of accounting operations for US-based clients operating in lean, fast-moving SME environments. You will be the most senior accountant on the client's books, acting as the definitive accounting voice. What You Will Own includes full-cycle accounting operations under US GAAP from accrual to final statement, month-end and year-end close, general ledger and balance sheet management, financial statement preparation, technical accounting treatment including revenue recognition and deferred revenue, reviewing journal entries and reconciliations prepared by other accountants, mentoring team members, enforcing internal controls, audit readiness, and partnering directly with US Controllers. What We're Looking For includes 6+ years of accounting experience with deep US GAAP expertise, demonstrated full close cycle ownership, experience reviewing or mentoring other accountants, strong technical judgment, audit management experience, ERP and accounting systems experience such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Xero, advanced Excel skills, and strong English communication. Preferred qualifications include CPA, CMA, ACCA, Big 4 or outsourced accounting experience, multi-entity accounting, ASC 606 application, and experience through ERP migrations.
