Logistics Director

A Logistics Director is responsible for leading logistics strategy, transportation, warehousing, distribution, and delivery operations. The role focuses on operational efficiency, cost control, service quality, and supply chain performance. Key Responsibilities - Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures. - Oversee transportation, warehousing, distribution, and delivery operations. - Monitor logistics costs, KPIs, service levels, and operational performance. - Manage routes, schedules, fleet operations, and delivery planning. - Oversee warehouse operations, inventory movement, and storage. - Manage logistics providers, carriers, suppliers, and service partners. - Negotiate transportation rates, contracts, and service agreements. - Identify cost-saving and operational efficiency opportunities. - Monitor shipment schedules, delivery performance, and service quality. - Manage logistics risks, delays, disruptions, and contingency plans. - Coordinate with procurement, sales, finance, operations, and supply chain teams. - Ensure compliance with customs, transportation, safety, and regulatory requirements. - Manage logistics budgets, forecasts, expenses, and cost controls. - Prepare logistics reports, performance analysis, and management updates. - Lead, develop, and support logistics teams and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. - Extensive experience in logistics management or senior logistics leadership. - Strong knowledge of transportation, warehousing, distribution, and inventory operations. - Experience managing logistics providers, carriers, suppliers, and contracts. - Strong negotiation, commercial, and cost-control skills. - Knowledge of route planning, fleet management, delivery operations, and KPIs. - Experience with SAP, Oracle, WMS, TMS, or logistics management systems. - Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. - Knowledge of customs, import/export, and transportation regulations. - UAE/GCC logistics experience is advantageous.
