Operational Procurement Officer

We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients, a leading manufacturer in the home and personal care products industry located in 6th of October, Giza, Egypt, for an Operational Procurement Officer to manage purchasing activities for raw and packaging materials, ensuring materials are obtained in the right quantity, quality, and cost, and delivered on time to avoid production delays. Location: 6th of October, Giza, Egypt Working hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including a 1-hour break Days off: Friday & Saturday Key Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree. - 2-3 years of procurement experience in a relevant field, preferably FMCG or pharmaceuticals. - Experience in purchasing raw materials and packaging materials. - Strong knowledge of supply chain management, inventory systems, and procurement operations. - Familiarity with market trends and pricing strategies. - Proficiency in SAP and MS Excel. - Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. - Excellent command of English, both written and verbal. Main Responsibilities: - Create and communicate purchase orders on time as per MRP requirements and approved supplier sources. - Ensure materials are available at the right time, quantity, quality, and cost. - Follow up on approved sources, prices, MOQs, and lead times. - Build and maintain strong, long-term supplier relationships. - Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing. - Work with Quality Control teams to inspect and release inbound materials on time. - Address quality issues with suppliers and ensure corrective actions are taken. - Track orders, manage material delivery requirements, and coordinate with Logistics for import shipments. - Follow up on ACID creation, shipping documents, clearance, demurrage root causes, and supplier claims - Coordinate with Finance to ensure timely invoice payments to suppliers - Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities and supplier communications - Identify supply chain risks, including material shortages, lead-time changes, or supplier reliability issues, and support contingency planning with procurement teams
