Job description
Purpose of the role:
The MDM Senior Engineer is accountable for the end-to-end ownership, stability, governance, and continuous improvement of the organization’s Master Data Management service. The role is responsible for ensuring that the MDM platform, associated integrations, data domains, operational processes, and underlying infrastructure are delivered in a secure, resilient, scalable, and compliant manner.
The role acts as the primary bridge between business, data governance, application teams, infrastructure, security, architecture, and vendors to ensure MDM services meet agreed business outcomes, service levels, and regulatory expectations.
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science / Information Systems (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 8+ years in Data Management / Enterprise Applications
- 5+ years hands-on with Oracle MDM (Siebel UCM, OEDQ and ODI)
- Strong expertise in core MDM capabilities like Match & merge, survivorship, golden record, Customer/party, product, and supplier data models
- Proven experience across Oracle ecosystem: Oracle EBS / Fusion integration, SOA / OIC / APIs / Middleware, Oracle Database (PL/SQL, performance basics)
- Hands-on in implementation & BAU support: Data migration, cleansing, onboarding, Workflow/stewardship setup, Batch and real-time integrations
- Strong exposure to production support & ITSM processes (incident, problem, change, release, RCA)
- Experience in infrastructure & environment management: App servers, DB, middleware
- Patching, upgrades, DR, performance tuning OCI / cloud or on-prem deployments
- Background in regulated environments (banking preferred) with focus on audit, security, and compliance
- Proven ability to manage stakeholder, vendors, and AMS partners.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end MDM service delivery, including platform, data domains, integrations, and operational processes – Oracle MDM Siebel UCM, Oracle Enterprise Data Quality & Oracle Data Integrator.
- Define and drive MDM service strategy, roadmap, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business and data objectives.
- Ensure platform stability, availability, and performance, meeting agreed SLAs and operational KPIs.
- Manage MDM platform configuration, enhancements, and lifecycle management (match/merge, golden record, hierarchies, workflows).
- Govern master data standards, stewardship processes, and data quality controls in collaboration with Data Governance teams.
- Manage infrastructure and environments (Dev, UAT, Prod, DR), including provisioning, patching, capacity, and DR readiness.
- Coordinate with Infra/Cloud/DBA teams to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient platform architecture.
- Oversee incident, problem, change, and release management in line with ITSM standards.
- Drive root cause analysis and permanent fixes for production issues and data defects.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and security controls (access, logging, segregation, vulnerability remediation).
- Lead MDM-related projects, upgrades, and deployments, ensuring smooth transition to BAU support.
- Manage stakeholder engagement across business, technology, data governance, and vendors.
- Monitor and report service performance, data quality KPIs, and operational metrics to leadership.
- Oversee incident, problem, change, and release management, and ensure service continuity.
