Procurement Officer

Procurement Officer Location: Sur Industrial Area, Oman Employment Type: Full-time Work Schedule: 5 Days Working / 2 Days Off Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing and purchasing of materials, spare parts, equipment, and services required for industrial operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on procurement experience within a power plant, oil & gas, manufacturing, maintenance, or industrial environment, with good knowledge of suppliers and procurement practices in Oman. Key Responsibilities - Manage end-to-end procurement activities from purchase requisition through delivery. - Source suppliers and obtain quotations for materials, spare parts, equipment, and services. - Prepare RFQs, evaluate quotations, and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules. - Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company procedures. - Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve delays or supply issues. - Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Warehouse, Finance, and Project teams. - Procure mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, maintenance, and industrial spare parts. - Maintain procurement records, supplier documentation, quotations, POs, delivery notes, and invoices. - Monitor pending orders, urgent requirements, and critical spare-parts availability. - Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, price, delivery, and service. - Support emergency procurement, shutdown, and maintenance requirements. - Prepare procurement reports covering outstanding orders, supplier performance, and cost savings. - Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, budgets, HSE, and quality requirements. Candidate Requirements - Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum 3 years of procurement or supply-chain experience. - Experience in power generation, oil & gas, manufacturing, maintenance, EPC, or industrial operations is preferred. - Experience purchasing industrial, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, MRO, or spare-parts materials is highly desirable. - Good knowledge of Oman suppliers and local procurement practices. - Experience with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems is preferred. - Good Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting skills. - Strong sourcing, supplier-management, negotiation, and cost-control skills. - Good communication and coordination skills.
