Job description

Our company is a market leader in the local food industry, renowned for quality and innovation. Job purpose: To ensure accurate and timely cost accounting, product costing, inventory valuation, cost analysis, and manufacturing cost control. The role provides reliable cost information and analysis to support financial reporting, operational efficiency, budgeting, and management decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain accurate product costing for manufactured products. Calculate and analyze standard and actual production costs, including raw materials, packaging, labor, and manufacturing overheads. Monitor and analyze production costs, material consumption, production yields, waste, and variances. Prepare periodic cost and manufacturing variance reports, explaining significant deviations upon request. Support accurate valuation and reconciliation of raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-process, and finished goods. Participate in periodic physical inventory counts and investigate differences between physical and accounting records. Review and update standard costs based on changes in material prices, production processes, and overheads. Support monthly and year-end financial closing activities related to manufacturing costs and inventory. Identify cost-control opportunities and provide recommendations to improve manufacturing cost efficiency. Ensure documentation and compliance with accounting policies and internal controls. Prepare cost-related reports and analysis required by Finance and Management. Work closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and other departments to ensure accurate cost information. Support internal and external audits by providing required cost and inventory analyses and documentation. Identify opportunities to improve cost accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and ERP system utilization. Key Competencies: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. 6 – 9 years of experience in Cost Accounting. Strong experience in product costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost analysis. Previous experience in a manufacturing / FMCG / food industry is highly preferred. Experience working with ERP systems like SAP and Oracle is preferred. Strong analytical and numerical skills. Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration. Experience with Excel formulas.
