Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily purchasing activities based on approved requirements and stock levels.
- Review purchase requisitions and verify quantities before placing orders.
- Monitor supplier price increases and obtain proper justification and supporting information.
- Monitor imported and locally sourced products and follow up on shipment and delivery schedules.
- Ensure critical and high-value items are continuously available.
- Coordinate with chefs and operations regarding product specifications, quality, samples, and approved brands.
- Monitor stock levels across warehouses, central kitchen, and outlets.
- Maintain appropriate minimum, maximum, reorder and safety stock levels.
- Review daily/weekly consumption and identify unusual increases or decreases.
- Coordinate regular physical stock counts and investigate variances.
- Reconcile physical stock with ERP/system inventory records.
- Monitor stock transfers between warehouses and outlets.
- Review stock aging reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Supervise and allocate daily responsibilities to the purchase and inventory team.
- Train team members on purchasing procedures, ERP systems, documentation, and inventory controls.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of purchasing/procurement experience, preferably within the UAE F&B/restaurant industry.
- Experience in inventory and warehouse control is essential.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and reporting.
- Good understanding of supplier negotiation and cost-control techniques.
