Sr/ Specialist Financial Accounting

Job title: Sr/ Specialist Financial Accounting. Function: Finance RPI Control. Location: Muscat/Sohar. Reporting to: Manager Financial Accounting. Job purpose: Executes Financial Accounting activities, under Manager Financial Accounting scope acting as senior specialist, and team player for Financial accounting services through: (1) Executes the non-standard accounting, (2) Cross functional and cross business monthly, quarterly and annual process for closing the books and consolidating the financial results., (3) Executes group accounting standards and local GAPP (IFRS), and (4) contribute to maintain the Company Accounting Policy Manual. Main tasks and responsibilities include monthly, quarterly, half year and year end Management reporting/Group Reporting, statutory and consolidation, external reporting as per IFRS and CMA/MSX/Group guidelines, closing processes, balance sheets, income statements, statements of cash flows, financial reports, business insights, consolidated reporting packages, coordinating with internal and state and statutory auditors, pre-procurement activities, accounting manual, budget compilation, continuous improvement initiatives, non-standard and complex accounting such as impairment test for non-financial assets, employee benefits, site restoration, intangibles, technical accounting papers on capitalization, investments, derivatives, merger, impairment, working with treasury, commercial, operation, legal and tax departments. Education requirements: Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field, professional accounting certification desirable. Language: Exceptional knowledge of English required, Arabic native desirable. Background and experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience, experience in non-standard accounting, oil and gas / energy industry experience essential, deep working understanding of financial reporting and analysis, experience in dealing with third parties such as state audit, MoF, lenders and investors. Technical skills: exceptionally good knowledge in using PC software, knowledge of SAP, English fluent required, Arabic is an advantage, proven effectiveness in accounts payable execution, MS Office applications.
